Does EqTek require Wi-Fi across my entire property or barn? ▾
No! The Eq-Tek E-Ink screens can communicate directly with your smartphone via offline Bluetooth LE. The water monitors report to the base station via a low energy, long distance wireless signal. No cellular plans or mesh extenders required.
Can the stall screens be plugged in to permanent power? ▾
Yes! While the e-ink screens have great battery life, each one can be plugged in to AC power, eliminating the need to replace or recharge batteries. Each screen has an accessible USB type-C port.
How does the water tank sensor measure water level? ▾
Our sensors are moisture contact sensors, detecting the presence of water at each of the 3 individual probes, which creates a graduated water level report. (0%, 33%, 66%, 100%)
What happens if my farm internet or power goes down? ▾
The E-Ink screens are bi-stable, meaning they retain their text information forever even with zero power. Your phone caches all feeding updates and automatically synchronizes when connectivity is restored.
